The Smithsonian Museum is presenting Re-Inking Tattoo History, a comprehensive exhibition exploring the history and meaning of tattoos throughout various regions and ethnic groups around the world. The exhibition dives deep into cultural significance, ethnic identities, and ancient traditions on a global scale through photography, object display, interactivity, and films. The exhibit aims to attract visitors with an interest in cultural history, the main objective is to showcase that throughout cultures, tattoos are signifiers for the community. Some of the exhibit’s sections will include immersive sounds and physical interactions to help emphasize the experience.
